Description

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical, electronic equipment, installations and machinery as directed by the Chief Electrical Officer. Key Responsibilities

Maintains and repairs electrical/electronic installations in the engine room as directed by the Chief Electrical Officer. ; Maintains and repairs electrical installation in the Hotel Department, including light systems, dimmer systems, sliding doors and kitchen equipment.; Maintains and repairs safety equipment, including navigation lights, fire damper and other equipment as needed.; Assists the 2nd or 1st Electrical Officer with maintenance and repair of the propulsion system.; Communicates effectively with Deck, Technical and Hotel personnel. ; Prioritizes ethics and compliance including health, environmental protection, safety and security in day to day duties.; Other duties as assigned by the Chief Electrical Officer.; Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education:

National Seaman’s Book ; Minimum of 6 years electrical education and 1 year of practical experience.; MBO Electrical (Dutch), electrician education or certification equivalent.; Experience:

Completed a 1-year electrical apprenticeship as part of education as an electrician onboard ship or shoreside.; Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Candidates are expected to work on board an international cruise ship.
